The acts of the lustral festivities of Our Lady of Abona began at 7:30 p.m., with the gala for the election of the queen and mister infantile. The Benítez de Lugo Street in La Villa de Arico It is the same place that will host today, starting at 9:30 p.m., the great election gala for the pilgrim, queen and mister.

The act will be performed by Candelaria González, Patricia Muñoz and Pedro Manuel Afonso, the comedians Paco and Maite –known for their performances on the YouTube channel JaJa– and, as a finishing touch, the singer Cristina Ramos.

Tomorrow, at 7:30 p.m., the Abona 2022 senior citizen festival will be held, which will provide the humor of Panchita and Servando and the afternoon dance with Manuel Dorta.

The Councilor for Culture, Festivals and the Elderly, Dácil Cano, pointed out that this year “there has been a great involvement of the neighborhoods in the different galas and there are even groups with two representatives. Admission to them is free. The mayor highlights the interest and enthusiasm of the candidates and expects massive attendance.

Dácil Cano claimed “the importance of our elders and of carrying out policies that improve their leisure and free time.” This premise leads the councilor to state that it is the cause of the celebration of the festival of the elderly.

As the pilgrimage enters its final days. The itinerary for today will begin in Arico Viejo and will go to the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora de the lightin Arico Nuevo, while the transfer of the image to La Sabinita is scheduled for tomorrow, to meet again with Our Lord of the Cross.

In all stages, the farewell to the pilgrim image will take place at 5:30 p.m., the departure will take place at 6:00 p.m. and on arrival there will be a welcome mass, celebrations and a vigil.

Tuesday, the 6th, is the date on which Our Lady of Abona will enter the temple from which she left, the church of San Juan Bautista, in Villa de Arico, from where she will leave again on the occasion of the Descent of the Virgin, to the Point.
