The Cabildo will resurface the service road between Guaza and the Llano Azul area

The project for the superficial rehabilitation of the surface of the island road TF-662, which connects Guaza with Cactus Park, in the municipality of Arona, is in public information. This is an “important intervention” for which the Cabildo’s Roads area has allocated a budget item of 1,412,102 euros.

The First Vice President and Minister of Roads, Enrique Arriaga, highlights that the works, which are expected to begin by the end of the year, is a relevant action on this road, taking into account that “it represents an alternative for drivers who go to Los Cristianos from Guaza or La Camella».

Arriaga explains that the project includes not only the rehabilitation and asphalting of the platform, but also includes the improvement of the drainage elements, the vehicle containment systems and the retaining wall of the road.

The insular councilor recalls that during this mandate “intervention is being carried out, systematically, in the rehabilitation of the insular network of roads, which was very deteriorated as a result of intensive use and poor maintenance.” Arriaga adds that “on many roads (throughout the island) there had been no investment for decades.”

The insular director of Highways, Tomás Félix García, indicates that last year emergency action had to be taken on a section of this highway, given the risk that one of the slopes could collapse and fall onto the South highway (TF- 1), now an intervention is made to improve driving comfort and, what is more important, to increase road safety». These works, carried out a year ago, had a budget of 130,004 euros.

The estimate of the Cabildo Highways area is that in December the projected works for the comprehensive adaptation of this road will begin. The term foreseen for their execution is four months.

In the vicinity of the TF-622 insular road, one of the last scheduled interventions for the rehabilitation of the South motorway concludes today. The work focused this week on the links of the TF-1 with the aron town of Playa de the Americas and with the San Eugenio area, in the Adeje section.

Last night the rehabilitation work began on the San Eugenio junction (74), so the vehicles that had to access this area had to use the Costa Adeje-Torviscas-Playa Fañabé junction (76). The execution of this project is nearing completion. The works on the trunk of the road have already finished and the signaling remains to be finalized, as announced by the Minister of Roads and Mobility.
