SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep. 1 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife is working on the general improvement of the horizontal signaling of the island’s road network, which has nearly 900 kilometers of track.
To this end, it has drawn up a project, with a budget of 1,038,156 euros, which is currently on public display.
The First Vice President and Minister of Roads, Enrique Arriaga, points out in a note that the most deteriorated signs will be repainted and the most dangerous areas and intersections will be reinforced to, ultimately, increase road safety
“These are important actions that improve road safety on our roads and make driving easier for users of these roads. From the Cabildo we continue working so that the island’s road network is in optimal conditions that facilitate mobility and ensure safety” , indicates Arriaga in a note.
The Minister of Highways states that “once the work begins gradually within a year, action will have been taken on the entire island network.”
The Island Director of Roads, Tomás Félix García, also explains that “the work will be carried out throughout the island’s geography, beginning with those points that are most conflictive or that show the greatest wear and aging.”
With this project, almost 600,000 linear meters of road markings and 10,000 square meters of symbols and road markings will be intervened to improve the safety of Tenerife’s roads.
