Metrotenerife, a company attached to the Cabildo de Tenerife, has planned new schedules for the Tenerife Tram by recovering the winter frequencies from this Thursday, September 1, due to the socio-economic reactivation of the metropolitan area.

In the central hours from Monday to Friday, Line 1 will increase its circulation to 6 minutes and Line 2 to 12 minutes. It will be from the 12th when the tram network adopts its usual winter frequencies, mainly 5 and 10 minutes.

The island councilor for Mobility and president of Metrotenerife, Enrique Arriaga, comments that “the reestablishment of the frequencies for the winter timetable will coincide with the entry into force of the 50% discount on collective public transport financed by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda. In such a way that we are in a better position to respond to the increase in demand, between 10% and 15%, which we hope to achieve with this measure”.

Timetables of the Tenerife Tram

From this Thursday, September 1 Line 1 it will operate every 6 minutes, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Line 2 will operate every 12 minutes. In the afternoon-night hours, the provision of the service will be 7, 7.5 and 15 minutes.

As of Monday the 12th, the tram network will adopt the definitive frequencies of the winter timetable, that is, 5 minutes on Line 1 and 10 minutes on Line 2 during central hours from Monday to Friday. Next, the step intervals will be 6, 12 and 15 minutes, depending on the time slot.

Weekend hours will not be modified and will be the same as those used throughout the year.

Metrotenerife reminds that the use of a mask is mandatory on board the trams and that you can consult the service schedules on its website, metrotenerife.comand on their social networks, Facebook and Twitter (@tranviatenerife).
