Sharon Moreno, who participated in the contest representing Bailando Producciones, won the Miss Sur 2022 crown. She did so during a gala held in the central square of El Médano, in Granadilla de Abona. The event was part of the program of activities developed by the Department of Culture and Festivals of the Granada City Council under the heading Sansofé 2022, a traditional summer meeting in the south of Tenerife that on this occasion had more than 70 acts.
The court of honor that will accompany Miss Sur 2022 is made up of Idariana Marcano, who was elected first maid of honor, who competed on behalf of Turismo de Arona, and Daniela González, the second maid of honor, who represented the Costa Adeje Tour.
During the night, more than 3,000 people gathered in the central square of El Médano, according to the organization, for which the data represents, “without a doubt, a success in terms of public attendance.”
Miss Sur was a show directed by Sandro Pérgola that lasted two hours. During this period, the parades of the 18 contenders for the title and various musical performances were interspersed, which were performed by Eva Olvido and Bea Mascareño, belonging to the group of women DJs from Tenerife, and the singer Shamaya, also from Tenerife.
The show included the projection, during the night, of the audiovisual material prepared for the development of this event. It included promotional videos of the municipality of Granadilla de Abona and all the towns that participated in this event.
more than beauty
One of the aspects in which the organization affects is to highlight that it is not a contest to use. The organization understands that the “seal of identity” of this contest is “to promote the beauty of the candidates in all areas, not just the physical, and, at the same time, carry out a cultural, landscape and historical promotion of the municipalities of the South ». At Miss Sur “values such as respect, mutual support, empathy and teamwork are encouraged.”
At the end of the act of election of Miss Sur 2022, the mayor of Granadilla, José Domingo Regalado, and the organizer of the contest, Sandro Pérgola, ratified a collaboration agreement that will allow the celebration of Miss Sur in Granadilla de Abona during 2023.
The municipal program Sansofé said goodbye to its edition this year with music, cinema and a water festival. After the months of July and August full of activities for all audiences and organized by the Department of Culture, whose head is Eudita Mendoza, it returned almost to normal, highlighting the People’s Folk Show, festivals of New Talents and Ichasagua, the concert by the José Reyes Martín Cultural Society Music Band and a performance by Los Sabandeños, among others. The mayor thanked the registered participation.
