SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 28 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Turismo de Tenerife will promote the island in New York, Chicago and Miami over the next week to show the diversity of the destination within the framework of an itinerant presentation that will take place in the eastern part of the United States.
According to the Cabildo, a Canarian delegation will travel between American cities accompanied by more than a dozen representatives of the tourism sector.
In this way, three different presentations will be held, between August 30 and September 1, in which the potential of Tenerife as a destination among North American travelers will be valued.
Along with the Tenerife Tourism technical team, the island’s Director of Tourism, Laura Castro, and the CEO of Tenerife Tourism, David Pérez, will travel.
For his part, Castro has said that promotional actions in the United States have intensified throughout the year with the aim of promoting the arrival of travelers of this nationality to the island.
“Now,” he added, “we are traveling to connect professionals from the Tenerife sector with the more than 150 American tourist agents who will be present in three cities in the country and to whom we will introduce them to the island.”
He has also stressed that “the objective is to promote Tenerife as a destination of excellence and great versatility. And for this, we will work in these sessions with agents, tour operators and North American organizations”.
Meanwhile, Pérez highlighted the importance of this action, “the first of its kind in the United States, and with which work will continue on the demand stimulation strategy for the autumn-winter season, and that we have already begun this summer with two famtrips in which we have made the destination known to professionals in the sector, who have been delighted by the diversity of our offer”.
Here he highlighted that between January and July 2022, Tenerife has received more than 15,217 tourists, which is 4,731 more, 45.1%, than in the same period of 2019, prior to the pandemic.
In fact, throughout 2019, a total of 17,417 American tourists stayed on the island, only 1,820 more than those that the island has already received in the first seven months of this year.
