The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands reports this Friday that since the last data update last Tuesday, 327 new positives in covid-19 have been recorded in the archipelago among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group at that is followed up after the acute phase of the pandemic has passed.
Thus, the accumulated number of cases of coronavirus among this group amounts to 95,639 people in the Canary Islands.
On the other hand, in the last three days there have been fourteen deaths, of which seven were reported in Gran Canaria, four in Tenerife, two in La Palma and one in Fuerteventura aged between 56 and 97, except for one person 46 years old.
Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 271.34 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 122.14.
Currently, in the archipelago there are 123 people admitted for coronavirus, of which nine are in the ICU and the rest, 114, on the ward.
All the people had previous pathologies and were in hospital admission, collects a note from the Ministry.
The Ministry also informs that since last August 12, and in compliance with the resolution of August 5 of the General Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health, in the calculation of beds occupied by patients with covid-19, the number of beds occupied by patients with pneumonia or acute respiratory infection or other pathology that is considered to be attributable to a SARS-CoV-2 infection.
