The island operational coordination center (Cecopin) of Tenerife has considered the fire declared on Wednesday under control in the area of Camino Guillén, in La Laguna, bordering the municipality of El Rosario, as reported by the Cabildo this Friday.

The fire affected some 20 hectares of brambles, ferns, heather and lard and forced the preventive eviction of 25 people.
The means of extinction were able to contain the flames and prevent them from exceeding the Agua García highway, the TF-226, which prevented it from spreading through a wooded area with dense vegetation.

In that case “we would talk about bigger things,” said Escolástico Gil, mayor of El Rosario.
His counterpart in La Laguna, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, said that if the fire jumped the road it would have been “uncontrollable”.

Four helicopters, a crew of Tenerife Firefighters with two wet nurses and a heavy bomb, 34 members of the Forest Brigades, Civil Protection and Local Police intervened in the emergency device.
