Candelaria yesterday concluded its festivities in honor of the Virgin of Candelaria, Patron General of the Archipelago, with the Octave of the Festival and the celebration of the Eucharist, sung by the Santa Ana-San Blas Group and with the procession around the square with the New Band of Igueste. The event was attended by the mayor, Mari Brito, and members of the Local Corporation.
Until the last day of the August festivities, Villa Mariana had visitors and neighbors who wanted to share a moment of faith and respect with La Morenita.
On Saturday night Los Sabandeños gathered a large audience in the Plaza de la Patrona de Canarias who did not want to miss the traditional date with this group and who enjoyed a magnificent musical night.
Gone are a few days in which music made in the Canary Islands has been the protagonist with artists such as José Vélez, Luis Morera, Cantadores and Diana Navarro, La Banda Las Candelas and Olga Cerpa or Bohemías de Lanzarote.
Thus, with a crowded Basilica, music and the promise of meeting the Patron Saint in 2023, what have been the festivities of reunion and unity come to an end, in the words of Brito.
