The Cabildo de Tenerife will activate from Sunday, August 21, at 7:30 a.m., extraordinary measures of grade 1 for the prevention of forest fires, due to the alert decreed by the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands. Therefore, and while this alert lasts, the cultural use of fire (prescribed agricultural and forest burning, stubble, scrub, waste…) and recreational use (barbecues, bonfires, campfires and gas stoves, among others) are prohibited. others).
In the same way, the use of any type of machinery or tool that can project sparks (brushcutters, welding equipment or radial cutters) and the use of any pyrotechnic material in risk areas is suspended.
The Cabildo recommends, therefore, extreme precautions with any activity that could generate fires (tobacco, use of generators, electrical and pyrotechnic material…) and the Forest Management Technical Service is ordered to establish the necessary services to attend the risk situation.
