SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 17 Aug. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Canarian Institute of Hemodonation and Hemotherapy (ICHH), dependent on the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, has launched a temporary blood donation campaign in Candelaria (Tenerife) to facilitate this solidarity act for residents and visitors.
The blood donation mobile unit will be active until next Friday, August 26, at the bus station located at Rambla de los Menceyes, number 9.
On the other hand, the hours of attention to donors will be from Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. The last day, August 26, will be operational until 8:15 p.m., as reported by the institute in a press release.
The ICHH has reminded the population “of the need” to donate blood every three or four months, with three donations a year for women and four for men. Likewise, the institute has indicated that at this time “donations of all blood groups are needed”, but especially those of groups O+, O-, and A+ to “meet hospital demand.”
DONATION PROTOCOL
If you wish to donate blood, you can go directly or request an appointment by calling 012 or 922 470 012 (option 8), Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. or by filling in the form published on the cover of the website effectdonation.com.
Beforehand, it is advisable to review the information published on the web page mentioned in the Information and Protocol tab to familiarize yourself with the established security measures, in addition to completing the self-assessment test to check if you can donate blood.
The ICHH has insisted that people vaccinated against covid-19, both with one and two doses and the booster dose, can donate blood after 48 hours of inoculation.
FIXED POINTS IN TENERIFE
You can donate blood in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, at the ICHH headquarters on calle Méndez Núñez, number 14, from Monday to Friday from 9:15 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. and from 3:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., except holidays.
In the southern region, the fixed point of the San Isidro Health Center, in Granadilla de Abona, is operational from Monday to Thursday from 1:15 p.m. at 2:30 p.m. Both points have a ford reserved for donors.
In addition, in La Orotava the fixed donation point located on the first floor of the Multicentro Comercial El Trompo (Sector 10, Las Arenas, exit 36 of the TF-5) is operational from Monday to Thursday from 5:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Friday from 10:15 a.m. at 1:30 p.m.
With regard to the fixed points of the Canarian Transfusion Network, at the University Hospital of the Canary Islands you can donate without an appointment from Sunday to Friday and holidays from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. hours.
Finally, at the Nuestra Señora de Candelaria University Hospital, donations can be made without an appointment from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., except holidays. Donors have reserved ford.
