SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The mayor of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, José Manuel Bermúdez, has asked the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, a meeting “where they can address joint lines of action in order to determine the conditions of future regulations to be dictated by the Community Autonomous to provide the essential and necessary security that would require the celebration of events at Christmas and the Santa Cruz Carnival, a festival declared of International Tourist Interest “.

For his part, the Party Councilor, Alfonso Cabello, insists that “it is essential to create an environment where you can speak, understanding that it is the moment since the regional Executive has announced that they will establish a series of meetings with various sectors – Culture, Health and Sports – and different groups to talk about the measures of the approved decree “.

Along these lines, he adds that as for the municipalities that celebrate Carnival, they must have a meeting of similar characteristics to analyze the fit of these measures.

Bermúdez, meanwhile, insists that “always prevailing the safety of people and their health, formulas must be sought among all stakeholders to allow some acts that are not multitudinous to begin to recover, such as contests and galas, which move more of 100 groups and groups, with more than 10,000 people behind “.

In this way, he argues that “to these figures, which are already important,” must be added the economic impact it represents for the municipalities, “which in the case of Santa Cruz rises to 32 million euros, with the consequent effect on employment and economic recovery “.

Cabello warns that “a group of this dimension and significance, both from a cultural and economic point of view, deserves a specific meeting to be able to propose possibilities and not impede what moves the Carnival in all municipalities”, and ends by requesting that the The regional executive should take into consideration and with the same importance the proposals that the groups of the ‘Party of the Mask’ can offer it, always within COVID security “.
