SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Aug. 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The mayor of Los Llanos de Aridane, Noelia García Leal, has proposed that the Spanish Volcanological Center be located in this municipality, specifically, in the Las Manchas area, in the surroundings of the Caños de Fuego Visitors’ Center, “although we are open to other proposals within the municipality,” he said.
Noelia García Leal confirmed that in this way the City Council joins the request made today by the Cabildo de La Palma and recalled that at the moment Los Llanos “is in full reconstruction, after being the municipality most affected by the eruption.”
“We are sure that its location in the municipality would be a social and economic shock since it would allow us, on the one hand, to have experts in the field closer to us, and, on the other hand, to establish a population. Something that is currently essential for the recovery of Los Llanos”, he stated.
Finally, the mayor showed her commitment to continue working, as has been done so far with the rest of the administrations, so that it is finally a reality that this Spanish Volcanological Center is installed in Los Llanos.
