The Casa del Carnaval will open a new temporary exhibition hall in September. The center located in saints ravine it will close its doors on the 15th and will resume activity during the second fortnight of next month with renewed proposals and a lot of activity.
“We are already working to reopen with news”, informs the CEO of the Development Society, Alfonso Cabello. He adds: «We plan to implement technological and audiovisual improvements, although we will wait for the budgets to be closed to specify them. We will have a new room for temporary exhibitions to expand the capacity of the centre».
Regarding the scheduled programming until the end of the year, Cabello points out that “the Carnival House will once again be present on three festivities, Full Moon, Halloween and Christmas, with activities, craft workshops, routes, games and musical performances.” In the venue you can enjoy the permanent exhibition with the award-winning groups at Carnival 2022as well as the costumes of the adult queens, and their bridesmaids, children and adults».
The councilman advances the temporary exhibitions scheduled for September. Thus, “Art and Carnival will be located in the Suspi Room to offer a vision of artistic development focused on poster design.” A visual journey through the 60 years of Carnival to learn about the history of the pieces and discover the ideas of the artists.
The new Multipurpose Room will be inaugurated with the exhibition Las Celias de Tenerife: 25 years making history about the group formed in 1997 by some friends who decided to pay tribute to Celia Cruz through their costumes and today they are Carnival history. In addition, talks and workshops specific to each exhibition will be scheduled.
During the first half of the year, the number of visitors for all of 2021 has already been exceeded, highly affected by the pandemic. More than half have been tourists, “in line with one of the objectives set when we opened in 2017: export the Carnival of Tenerife and make it known throughout the world””, values Alfonso Cabello.
