The Civil Guard has instructed proceedings in which they investigate a 65-year-old woman, a resident of Jerez de La Frontera (Cádiz), as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of fraud through a ‘telephone hoax’ in which she offered bonuses to stay in hotels .
The police action has been carried out by Civil Guard agents belonging to the Team @ La Palma, dedicated to preventing, protecting and prosecuting cybercrime, in collaboration with the Team @ Cádiz.
The criminal acts date back to May 9, when the complainant/injured person appeared at the offices of the Civil Guard of Los Llanos de Aridane and stated that she had received a call from a person who had identified himself as an agent of the department of a page web, offering you a bonus of 30 hotel nights anywhere in Spain for an amount of 160 Euros.
To acquire the same, he had to make a transfer through the bizum application to the telephone number that it provided. The injured party made the payment and after that she learned through some friends that it was a scam, so after trying to contact the agent of the alleged website to get the amount paid back, she no longer answered. the calls.
The agents of the Civil Guard of the Team @ began an investigation in order to clarify the aforementioned criminal act. Thanks to the efforts to analyze the information provided by the injured party as well as by the various related organizations and entities, evidence was gathered that pointed to the now-investigated resident of Cádiz as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of fraud, which is why, with the collaboration of the Cádiz @ Team, it was possible to locate, identify and investigate.
The proceedings instructed were sent to the Court of First Instance and Instruction No. 1 of Los Llanos de Aridane on guard duty.
