SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 5 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Agents of the National Police have arrested a total of 14 people –11 men and three women–, between 22 and 42 years old, of which 13 have previous police records for different reasons, as alleged perpetrators of a crime of brawl riot that occurred on July 26 in Aguere (Tenerife).
The events occurred on the aforementioned day, around 6:00 p.m., when national agents were requested by several citizens who stated that a brawl was taking place on Avenida de Los Majuelos between a large number of people and that they were carrying knives and objects. dangerous that they wielded in the middle of the street, as reported by the National Police in a press release.
Subsequently, and given the magnitude of the fight, several patrols of the National Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and La Laguna appeared at the scene, in addition to agents of the Local Police of La Laguna, who observed how several people, before the arrival of police vehicles, they fled at a run, getting rid of the weapons and objects they were carrying in their hands.
However, the agents stopped, identified and checked the belongings of these people and searched the vicinity of the area, in addition to the statements of the witnesses, knowing that there had allegedly been an initial attack between two of the detainees who led to a fight of greater proportions, thus motivating the police intervention.
The agents have seized different types of weapons and dangerous instruments, such as knives, large machetes, brass knuckles or wooden sticks.
For all these reasons, the national police proceeded to arrest these 14 people for their alleged participation in the fight that had just taken place. In addition, those arrested maintained their violent attitude during their stay in police facilities, even damaging several vehicles of the Security Forces and Bodies used for their transfer.
Those arrested, together with the seized weapons, have been placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.
