SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, 5 Aug. (EUROPA PRESS) –

An 86-year-old man has been rescued by the helicopter of the Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) when he was unable to continue on his way on a path in Santiago del Teide, on the island of Tenerife, as reported by the Emergency Coordination Center and Security of the 112 of the Canary Islands.

The events occurred this Thursday afternoon on a road in the La Saoguera area of the aforementioned municipality and agents of the Local Police traveled to the place, as well as members of the Tenerife Firefighters Consortium who located the affected person, who needed medical assistance and be evacuated from the place.

The firefighters, observing the difficulty of rescuing the man by land, requested the GES helicopter, in such a way that the rescuers got down from the aircraft and, in collaboration with the firefighters, hoisted the affected person onto the device to evacuate him to the Adeje Volunteer Fire Department helipad.

The man was then transferred by basic life support ambulance from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) to the Hospiten Sur University Hospital for evaluation.
