An unforgettable bath in the oldest natural pools and puddles in Tenerife

The island of Tenerife has always stood out for its spectacular landscapeswhere the sea, the most lush vegetation and kilometers of volcanic rock are combined in the same setting, which is why it has become one of the most visited destinations for those who seek to have it all without having to travel far, making everyone fall in love with it. who visits her.

The landscape of Tenerife has always stood out for its diversity. The rocky and black sand beaches are one of the main attractions that the island offers, as well as the puddles and natural pools, with thousands of years of history.

Formed by the erosion of the sea and the wind, the volcanic rocks have been shaped capriciously and have formed these peculiar bathing areas that leave you speechless and seem to be taken from a movie.. Many of them in their natural state and others, on the other hand, adapted by man for the safety of bathers.

These pools and puddles are unique places, and if something characterizes them, it is that we are sure that they will make you forget everything and completely connect with nature.

If you are thinking of traveling to the island, below we offer you a selection of the best natural pools so that you can enjoy these true wonders of nature.

LA JAQUITA POOL (ISORA GUIDE)

The natural pools and Playas La Jaquita are bathing areas that are located in the town of Alcalá, municipality of Guía de Isora, in southern Tenerife, in a stretch of rocky area that has been conditioned to improve the comfort of bathers. It is accessed in a very simple way, directly by the maritime and pedestrian promenade that can be reached on foot from La Playa Alcalá.

Guía de Isora has built a building on the coast, modernizing and expanding the services to facilitate access to bathers. This pool is in a less natural context but is so well integrated that it will steal your heart.

If you go a little further you will find an untouched part and an area where for many it is a refuge for surfing.

BAJAMAR NATURAL SWIMMING POOLS

If the people who visit the Bajamar pools agree on something, it is that this place has a special magnetism that traps. Very well equipped for all types of bathers, you can enjoy a peaceful swim while enjoying the waves.

These pools are ideal for spending a day with the family, as the complex consists of two large ones and a small one for children. Bajamar has established itself as an authentic natural family water park.

A beach of blonde sand protected from the oceanic impetus in the municipality of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, whose center has been declared a World Heritage Site for its rich heritage.

WIND POOL (LA GUANCHA)

Thanks to ancient volcanic eruptions that reached the sea and cooled quickly, this pool of crystal clear waters was created. This small natural bay formed by two arms of lava is perfect for fishing and snorkeling, as its two arms of lava protect the area from strong waves.

It is a place very frequented by tourists due to the great beauty and uniqueness of the site. El Charco del Viento is the most popular bathing area in La Guancha and one of the most famous pools with the best access in the north of Tenerife.

Although sometimes the force of the Atlantic enters, this enclave of great beauty and contrast of colors allows calm baths in the different inlets, with areas with sand and others with rocks ideal for enjoying the sun.

PUNTA DE HIDALGO NATURAL SWIMMING POOLS (SAN CRISTOBAL DE LA LAGUNA)

The natural pools of Punta de Hidalgo are among the most visited and one of the most outstanding places in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. They have a large area where you can sunbathe and rest, as well as being conditioned for all audiences.

The landscape and the sunsets are two of the reasons that invite the visitor to enjoy the almost obligatory bath in this infinity pool.

The natural pools have the Blue Flag distinction, which guarantees an excellent state of the waters and quality of services.

CHARCO EL CALETON (GARACHICO)

These pools, which today are one of the main tourist attractions in the municipality, were created in 1706 with the last eruption of the Trevejo volcano. The capricious shapes of the Caletón is what most attracts the attention of bathers.

The bath is suitable for all audiences, since the waters are usually calm but you have to be careful, since the sea in this area is quite strong.

Bathing in El Caletón not only allows you to enjoy the oceanic reactivation, but also to contemplate part of one of the most beautiful historic centers of the Canary Islands, the spectacular cliffs of La Culata and the views towards the rest of the northern coast.

CHARCO DE LA LAJA (SAN JUAN DE LA RAMBLA)

This puddle appears almost by surprise at the end of one of the streets in the municipality of San Juan de la Rambla, and just seeing it from the viewpoint is impressive.

To access it, you have to go down some steps, and you can now dive into crystal clear waters and enjoy the views of the Atlantic Ocean in the background.

This little volcanic paradise, created from the whimsical shapes of lava, is one of the most beautiful places on the coast of San Juan de la Rambla. It is worth taking advantage of your visit to take a walk along the coast and get to know the beautiful town of San Juan de la Rambla, where you can taste the rich Canarian cuisine in any of its restaurants and taverns.
