located 460 kilos of hashish in a storage room, more than 100 grams of cocaine and an arsenal of weapons

Agents of the National Police and the Civil Guard have arrested two men in a joint operation against drug trafficking in Tenerife, one of them a 51-year-old man who had rented a storage room in which 460 kilograms of hashish and one of cocaine

In a statement, the Civil Guard has reported this Thursday that as a result of the inquiries carried out in other investigations, the agents learned that a middle-aged man, known in the police field for his past relationship with the trafficking of narcotic substances on the island, could have resumed such activities.

The investigations carried out by the investigators led to a storage room rented by this person in Los Majuelos and after being searched, 460 kilograms of hashish were found, divided into 14 bales that were still wet, since apparently they came from a cache that had just entered the island, a kilogram of cocaine, substances for drug cutting and 6,500 euros in cash inside.

Given the high possibility that evidence would be destroyed, the investigators arrested this man and, after obtaining the corresponding judicial authorization, entered and searched his home and a nightlife venue that he intended to open in the town of La Laguna.

In these searches, the agents seized another 20 kilograms of hashish, 100 grams of cocaine, a press for cocaine packages and other elements for weighing, cutting and selling the drug.

The investigators, through the proceedings carried out, found that the detainee had a collaborator, another 63-year-old man also related in the past to the trafficking of narcotic substances in Tenerife.

This second person was arrested at his home in the capital of Tenerife, in a judicially authorized entry and search in which, in addition to different narcotic substances, weapons such as katanas, daggers, a defense, shackles and special 38-caliber ammunition were seized.

The judicial authority, after receiving the detainees placed at its disposal, ordered their entry into preventive detention.

The actions were carried out by national police from the UDYCO of the Provincial Police Station of the National Police of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and civil guards from the EODA of the Civil Guard Command of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
