As of September 1, the new equipment collection service will come into operation in Santa Cruz, which will have a fixed collection day in each district, with the aim, according to the mayor of Public Services, Carlos Tarife, of reducing the accumulation of belongings that are seen in some points of the capital and offer a deplorable image. Thus, under the name of 5 districts, 5 days, the Special Service for the Collection of Bulky Waste, will allow the removal of domestic waste generated in homes, businesses and industries that due to their size, weight or special characteristics are not susceptible to collection through ordinary services. or they cannot be delivered to the mobile clean point established by the City Council of Santa Cruz.
The implemented service will continue to be free for the user, and the collection will be carried out assigning each district a day of the week, so that all the streets of the municipality have a specific day to carry out the collection of the aforementioned waste. Until now, all the districts were visited, every day, with the list of belongings to be removed, after calling the neighbors.
Now, on Mondays the collection will take place in Anaga; Tuesdays in Centro-Ifara; Wednesdays at Salud-La Salle; Thursdays at Ofra-Costa Sur; and Fridays in the Southwest.
To facilitate the correct planning of the service, it will be necessary for the user to contact Valoriza, prior to the day of collection of their district, through the number 922224849 or through the website https://santacruzlimpia.es/recogida-de-enseres/ in a new form that will be included on the page starting in September.
The waste will be deposited next to the containers closest to the user between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., on the assigned day of the week and previously contacting the service management company in accordance with the above, depositing them safely, always in an area accessible for municipal services and respecting the accessible pedestrian itinerary.
The collection will be made during the day from 7:00 a.m. In addition, in the morning and afternoon, inspection routes would be maintained for bulky waste that could be deposited outside the planning schedule in the rest of the districts.
Likewise, there will be a review vehicle to deal with municipal incidents and calls from neighbors that may arise.
The provision of the service will be from Monday to Friday, (now it is done from Monday to Saturday, with a checkpoint on Sunday mornings) and the waste that is admitted is sofas, mattresses, doors, furniture, chairs, boxes and wooden slats , blinds, appliances (washing machines, vacuum cleaners) and other similar waste; in a maximum of six items. Loose sheets of glass will not be collected.
Public Services is studying putting in a warehouse the belongings that are in the best condition so that the neighbors can give them a second life, and completely free of charge.
