The Municipal Planning Department of Santa Cruz has denied the major building license that an individual requested to allocate a property, located in Las Gaviotas, to vacation homes. The response from the Planning Department indicates that it must inform both the Tenerife Island Council and the interested party that it is not feasible to implement holiday homes in the reference property as it is contrary to current planning and planning legislation. And it is that the tourist use of private homes is not regulated in Santa Cruz.
According to the regulations of vacation rentals of Canary Islands Governmentnatural persons (individuals) may submit a responsible declaration electronically or telematically from the electronic office, as well as in person, at the Cabildo de Tenerife.
While, on the other hand, a report or certificate on classified activities must be requested from the City Council where the vacation home is located and it will decide whether it is possible to allocate the residential home to tourist use, in accordance with municipal planning and ordinances.
