SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 30 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife today observed a respectful minute of silence in memory of and rejection of the death of the 34-year-old woman murdered this Friday on Calle Alfaro in the capital, since this has been confirmed by the Government Delegation against Gender Violence.
The concentration, which took place at the gates of the City Hall, was attended by the mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez, members of the Corporation, representatives of other public institutions, as well as citizens who wanted to join this act of rejection.
The call allowed once again to express the solidarity of the municipality with the family and people close to the victim, as well as to express the firm rejection against any manifestation of sexist violence.
“We had been a few years without this type of events taking place in our city and unfortunately yesterday that streak was cut short because someone considered that they had to curtail a person’s fundamental right to life,” said Bermúdez.
