The ex-boyfriend of the 34-year-old woman who died this Friday after being stabbed in the street in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and alleged perpetrator of the sexist crime will go to court this Monday, as reported this Saturday by the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands.
The woman was stabbed on Alfaro street shortly before three in the afternoonin front of a very busy supermarket at that time, and the alleged murderer, who fled the scene, was arrested two hours later at his home by agents of the National Police and the Local Police, without offering any resistance.
The woman did not die on the spot, she was treated at the scene by police personnel. Canary Emergency Service and by a doctor and a nurse from the Doctor Guigou Health Center, very close to the place, and transferred to La Candelaria Hospital, where he passed away shortly after.
Mayor, councilors and workers of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, accompanied by other public officials and citizens, have observed a minute of silence this Saturday, in an atmosphere of shock, in memory of the murdered 34-year-old woman.
The President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Angel Victor Torreshas also condemned the murder, as has the Cabildo de Tenerife who, together with other municipalities, have called new concentrations to show their pain and solidarity with the family of the deceased and reject sexist violence.
