The meeting recently held by the Distribution Committee of the Interport Compensation Fund again denoted the imbalance existing in the distribution between the different centers that make up the state system of ports. The light received a net profit of 111,000 euros according to the 2021 numbers, after having contributed 1.98 million euros.
This amount converts the Las Palmas Port Authority in the third that contributes the most at the national level, behind those of Barcelona, with 4.46 million euros, and Valencia, with 4.41 million euros.
At the other extreme is the reality of the other Canarian port authority, that of Santa Cruz de Tenerifewhich contributed last year with an amount of 547,000 euros, and to which was assigned a positive net of 8.84 million euros, of which 7 million euros respond to the concept of insularity. In this same situation are the ports of Melilla and Ceuta, since the first has an amount of 4.48 million euros after having contributed 7,000 euros, while the second receives 3.43 million euros, with a collaboration in the global computation of 222,000 euros. Both one and the other are deficit port centers that have to be rescued due to the substantial difference between productivity and compensation.
1.9 million euros The Port Authority of Las Palmas will have an average contribution to the Interport Compensation Fund of 1.9 million euros for the years 2022 and 2023.
As for the total amounts, an amount of 63.16 million euros was available, of which 622,000 are for State Ports and 34.32 million euros are distributed among the port authorities.

The meeting between the different centers that make up the state network also served to ratify the distribution during the present 2022. In this case, La Luz maintains the line in its contribution, with a participation of 1.96 million eurosalthough it will only receive 1.16 million, so you will get a negative balance of 803,000 euros. Barcelona and Valencia repeat in the first two participation positions, with 5.17 and 3.6 million euros, respectively.
1.56 million in losses In 2023, Puertos de Las Palmas will not receive benefits. The balance will be negative, specifically, 1.56 million euros, the result of contributing 1.9, and only receiving 385,000.
This year, the one that will benefit the most from the distribution is the port of Ceuta, with 10.87 million euros (they collaborate with 147,000 euros), followed by the port of Melilla, which will receive 8.66 million euros (8,000 euros of contribution) and the Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, which adds to the total an item of 891,000 euros, and which will have a favorable margin of 7.31 million euros.
The total to be distributed is 62.15 million euros, of which 8.26 are intended for the state body and 39.87 are for port managers.
Forecast in 2023
In 2023, the outlook is even worse for the Ports of Las Palmas. In principle, there is a forecast contribution of 1.94 million euros and it will again have a negative impact with a loss of 1.56 million euros.
For its part, the Barcelona port, with 5.46 million euros, and the Valencian port, with 4.65 million euros, would occupy the first and second place of those that contribute the most.
8.84 million profit The case of the other Canarian port authority, that of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is the opposite, since it receives a positive net of 8.84 million euros, according to 2021 data.
In this exercise, it will be Ports of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the one with the largest positive net, 7.34 million euros, on a stake of 1.01 million euros. Melilla, with 3.88 million euros (contributing 8,000 euros), and Ceuta, with 3.62 million euros (with a collaboration of 160 thousand euros), would continue to be on the list of the top beneficiaries.
Finally, the amount to be distributed drops to 43.71 million euros, of which Puertos del Estado will receive 11.25, while the port authorities will obtain 26.83 million euros.
