SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 21 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has issued a resolution temporarily prohibiting access, both on foot and by any other means, to public forests within the Corona Forestal Natural Park in the municipalities of La Orotava, Los Realejos, San Juan de La Rambla, La Guancha and Icod de Los Vinos due to the forest fire emergency.
With this measure, the insular corporation wants to guarantee the safety of the population in the face of a possible unfavorable evolution of the fire declared this Thursday and to prevent the extinction work in the affected area from being hindered.
Passage will only be allowed, if it is essential, to access livestock farms for the purpose of caring for or rescuing animals, the Cabildo details in a note.
From the area of Management of the Natural Environment and Security, which is directed by the councilor Isabel García, it is explained that this prohibition will be maintained until its cancellation is declared by express resolution, once the extinction work has been completed or the risk has disappeared.
