SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 20. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Parliament of the Canary Islands hosts this Thursday from 6:30 p.m. a new edition of ‘Parliament Forum’ under the title ’50 Years of Economic and Fiscal Regime in the Canary Islands’.
Thus, they will offer their point of view Cristóbal Montoro, former Minister of Finance and Public Function of the Government of Spain; Jerónimo Saavedra, former president of the Government of the Canary Islands and former minister of the Government of Spain; Rosa Dávila, Second Vice President of the Parliament of the Canary Islands and former Minister of Finance of the Government of the Canary Islands, and José Carlos Francisco, President of the Economic and Social Council of the Canary Islands and former Minister of Finance of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The meeting aims to serve as a space for dialogue and debate on the particularities of the differentiated economic and fiscal regime enjoyed by the Canary Islands.
The president of the Chamber, Gustavo Matos, recalls in a note the objective of Parliament in this tenth legislature of serving as a forum for debate and meeting, beyond its legislative activity and control of the Government.
“We want to make the Parliament a more open and friendly institution, a place where we can listen to the voice of all the people and groups that have something to contribute on those issues that have marked these 40 years of self-government and parliamentarism in the Canary Islands and, also, on the future challenges facing the archipelago,” says Matos.
