Sainz, Checa and Christene GZ check on the ground what the layout of the Tenerife Motor Circuit will be like

The riders Carlos Sáinz, Carlos Checa and Christine GZ have already tested the future layout of the Tenerife Motor Circuita project that was presented on Tuesday before more than 1,500 people at the Tenerife Auditorium.

After concluding the tour, Carlos Sáinz has assured that “it is a pleasure to see the number of people who are excited about this project”. “I have enjoyed this first lap of the circuit and now it’s time to wish you the best of luck so that it goes ahead”, added the Formula 1 driver before leaving for France where next weekend he will contest the next Formula 1 Grand Prix at the Paul Ricard circuit.

“Although the terrain has to start to take shape, you can already guess that the circuit is going to be top level and has nothing to envy to any other in the world”, explained former Moto GP rider Carlos Checa.

For her part, Christine GZ has shown her enthusiasm with the track and has declared that “hopefully we can come to train soon because it has been special to be able to see what the circuit will be like and I would also like to be the first to turn around when the asphalt is ready ”.

The athletes carried out the tests this Wednesday and were accompanied during the tour by the president of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín, and the first vice president, Enrique Arriaga.

Peter Martin He explained that the objective of the Cabildo is to implement this project in phases, depending on the possibilities of growth. “We are not going to give up any test. We will be advancing from less to more and investing to the extent necessary to provide these infrastructures with greater competitiveness, “said the president, who highlighted the” enormous possibilities offered by the Circuit, whose construction “responds to an important social demand”, as it was possible to verify in the act of presentation of yesterday.

Enrique Arriaga has insisted that the Tenerife Motor Circuit “is an excellent opportunity for the island after so many years of waiting”. The vice president thanked the riders for their support of the project because “athletes of the caliber of those we have here today believe in the possibilities of this infrastructure that will allow us to continue working with even more enthusiasm to make the circuit a success.” In addition, the first vice president summoned the pilots to check the progress of the works in two years and take a tour of the Tenerife Motor Circuit already on asphalt ”

The Tenerife Motor Circuit, located in Atogo, in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona, will have a 4,050 meter long track, 16 curves and will have the particularity of being one of the few in the world in which it will be run counterclockwise . In the circuit it will be possible to reach maximum car speeds of 320 km/h and minimum speeds of 95 in the steepest curve. In the case of motorcycles, the speed range ranges between 315 and 80 kilometers per hour.
