SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, Sep 7 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The heads of Health, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands begin this week a series of meetings with representatives of the hotel and restaurant industry, culture and sports to explain the improvements and flexibility of measures established by Decree Law 11 / 2021, of September 2, which establishes the legal health alert regime and the measures for the control and management of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Canary Islands, a basic standard of reference in the Autonomous Community by consolidating the more than twenty sanitary measures agreements adopted during the last eighteen months.

This Thursday, the teams of the Ministry of Health, the Canary Islands Health Service and the General Directorate of Public Health will convene the Technical Commission of the hotel and restaurant sector, and, together with the Vice Ministry of Culture, will convene also to the cultural sector.

Subsequently, and in coordination with the General Directorate of Sports, another meeting will be held with the sports sector.

One of the issues to expose in these meetings is the flexibility of schedules and capacity according to the levels on each island.

Thus, level 1 will allow a 100% capacity outside the restaurants and 75% inside, with a maximum of groups for meetings of 12 non-living people and a closing time of 3.00 hours .

On the second level, the external capacity will be 75% and 50 inside, while the meeting groups are limited to 8 people and the closing time is set at 2.00 am.

Businesses will be able to use 75% of their external capacity on level 3 and 40% indoors, while groups are reduced to 6 people and the hours drop at 1:00 am.

On level 4, a 75% capacity is allowed outdoors, 25% indoors, groups of 6 people and it also closes at 1.00 am.

Regarding the organization of events, the Decree-Law allows maintaining all the programmed cultural activity and stable cultural spaces such as auditoriums, cinemas and theaters, which may continue to maintain the same capacity conditions that they had until now at all levels of alert and do not have to renew or apply for a new permit.

MORE THAN HALF THE CAPACITY IN CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

The norm establishes at least a 55% capacity for cultural activity at all alert levels, although the conditions are made more flexible and stable cultural spaces will be allowed to request an increase in their capacity from the health authorities by presenting a new application, which will be generic for all your programming, with a contagion prevention plan.

This will even allow reaching 100% of the capacity, depending on the prevention measures of each space that requests it, says the Executive.

In the same way, the possibility of developing cultural activities in large sports venues is expanded, also after submitting a Contagion Prevention Plan to the health authorities for the corresponding authorization.

The decree also allows to reactivate the holding of congresses, meetings, business meetings, conferences and similar events.

In all the areas and activities mentioned, the Government has reviewed in the Decree-Law the measures adopted to guarantee that the conditions are exactly the same or are improved, as well as the part related to sports activity is improved, following the guidelines agreed between Public Health and Sports. Likewise, the practice of Canarian wrestling is allowed.
