The Tegueste City Council seeks solutions to the two main problems of the primary sector in the municipality: the lack of generational change and the abandonment of farms. These issues and the irrigation systems marked the meeting between the mayor, Ana Rosa Mena, and the Councilor for Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development, Julián Rodríguez, with the president of the Coordinator of Organizations of Farmers and Ranchers of the Canary Islands (COAG Canarias ), Rafael Hernández, and the person in charge of Tenerife, Miguel López.
Mena highlighted the City Council’s collaboration agreement with the entity, which aims to promote agricultural and livestock activity, facilitating training and advice. “Tegueste is a point of reference not only for Tenerife, but also for the Canary Islands, in terms of agriculture and livestock,” he stressed.
