The works to remodel Imeldo Serís have continued to advance throughout the month of August with the objective, which the Santa Cruz City Council does not renounce, that at the end of the year the street will reopen completely renovated. However, as the mayor of Infrastructures, Dámaso Arteaga, recognizes, the area in which the work is located is generating multiple setbacks, which are solved as they arise. At the moment, this week, according to the mayor, a part of the intervention will be finished that will put an end to the bad smells that the neighbors have been enduring since the beginning of the work. “From next week odors will be eliminated almost completely, that is an aspect that we are going to solve now,” he said.
Yesterday Arteaga visited the work to see the progress. “Although it has not stopped throughout the month of August, we did have to tackle a complicated crossing, that of Imeldo Serís with Juan Padrón, a corner through which several facilities passed, which has complicated the work because the gully channeling tube had to be placed under these facilities, with the complication that this entails ”.
He pointed out that, after solving this problem, which has retained the work a little longer, now, “we are preparing a new arch, which is being concreted this week, and the stone of the Juan Padrón road is also being placed, a section in the one that we will try to advance this week ”.
Complex area
Arteaga insisted on the complexity of the point at which the work is currently, “from which we hope to leave next week. We cannot forget that it is the channeling of the old ravine, which was in poor condition, and we are finding all kinds of problems, such as pipes that do not go anywhere, solving cracks in pre-existing constructions through which sewage leaked that even arrived to the subsoil, all of them problems that we have been solving since the beginning of the work ”.
As for the crack that had been located between the sidewalk and the buildings on the street, Arteaga explained that it has already been solved, with the addition that “when we finish the actions, many of the humidity problems will be solved in garages and so on. So, despite everything, I think we will live up to expectations. “
