The Cabildo of El Hierro decrees the closure of forest tracks to prevent forest fires

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 8. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Cabildo of El Hierro has decreed the closure of the yellow level forest tracks to avoid forest fires, as well as the activation of the Insular Emergency Plan (PEIN) due to high temperature alert and maximum alert due to the risk of forest fires from 10:00 a.m. today Friday.

As preventive measures to avoid fires in the forest mass of El Hierro, for the time being the use of stoves has been prohibited in the recreational parks of the El Morcillo and El Pino basins and the yellow level forest trails that have been listed below:

In the municipality of El Pinar, Highway HI-45 from the El Tomillar Crossing to Las Malinas (Malpaso); accesses from El Morcillo to Pino Piloto (three forest tracks); track from El Brezal to Pino Piloto; The Sabinilla; Las Jarras track; Cruz de los Reyes-Torre Mercadel (only the fountain will be accessed); Firewalls of Los Marrubios (three forest trails); Old Nursery-Classroom of Nature; Cross La Casilla to Aula de la Naturaleza; Sergeant’s Tablada; La Tagüenta-Firewall Horehounds; track Carretera El Brezal-access track to Fuente El Lomo (opposite Tagüenta); El Brezal road track-access track to Fuente El Lomo (Near Llanía-Morcillo road junction).

In the municipality of Valverde, accesses to the El Pinar-San Andrés al Jorado road, Asomadas (two forest tracks); accesses from HI-4 to the Masilva reservoir (two tracks) and La Mareta (one forest track); Path of the fountain and accesses to the Brezal road (2 forest tracks); Teloje-La Mareta curve along the San Antón road; access to Hoya Fireba; accesses from the HI-1 road to the La Mareta area (three forest tracks).
