The victorious Consistory has hired 44 unemployed neighbors to work for 6 months in different areas and municipal services.
The mayor of La Victoria, Juan Antonio Garcia, and the Councilor for Employment, Sonia Gutiérrez, welcomed the group of new workers. Among the professional profiles of those hired are masons, public works laborers, cleaning and painting.
Among the functions they will perform are the cleaning and painting of municipal facilities, street cleaning and the execution of works and repairs in public spaces in La Victoria de Acentejo.
This job placement program that seeks to reduce unemployment in the municipality while improving the employability of the participants -especially the long-term unemployed- and results in the adaptation of various infrastructures and spaces in the municipality.
The initiative has an investment of 548,901 euros and is subsidized by the regional government, through the Canarian Employment Service, and the Ministry of Labor of the central government.
