The Canarian Coalition group in the Council of Tenerife requests this Wednesday that the insular corporation co-finance the withdrawal of licenses from taxis in Santa Cruz.

The nationalist formation points out in a statement that it is necessary for the Cabildo to continue co-financing this process, as it had been doing in previous mandates, so that an adequate service can be provided in the capital of Tenerife.

CC-PNC indicates that a new study carried out by the Santa Cruz City Council indicates that there are between 100 and 150 taxi licenses left over and establishes the redemption of permits as the fastest way to reach an updated ratio for the adequate provision of the service.

This ratio ranges between 632 and 582 licenses, so it is necessary to withdraw more than a hundred permits, details the note.

The nationalist formation indicates that the objective is to guarantee the economic balance of the taxi activity in Santa Cruz and that supposes the limitation of the number of authorizations and licenses of the activity and in the establishment of obligatory rates.

For this, he believes the economic contribution of the Cabildo is essential, as it had been done in previous mandates, and comply with what was agreed at the Taxi Table.

Together with the withdrawal of licences, CC-PNC proposes another series of measures to improve the taxi sector, such as increasing revenues through higher occupancy, improving the competitiveness of the sector, optimizing the cost structure; carry out integrated and professional management and promote quality and improve image.
