The Ministry of Health of Canary Islands Government communicated this Tuesday two new cases and four under study for a possible diagnosis of monkey pox since yesterday. Therefore, from the beginning of the declaration of the health alert there is 62 confirmed casesof which 41 were detected in Gran Canaria Y 21 in Tenerife.
All cases have mild symptoms and remain in home isolation receiving follow-up by Primary Care.
Therefore, the confirmed and notified cases in the Canary Islands since the beginning of the alert and until today are as follows:
– 62 confirmed cases, 41 in Gran Canaria and 21 in Tenerife.
– Four probable cases, pending confirmation, two notified in Gran Canaria and two in Tenerife.
– Three suspected cases, pending confirmation, two registered in Tenerife and one in Gran Canaria.
The protocol of Ministry of Health It classifies cases between probable and suspected depending on whether the patient meets clinical criteria and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if it only presents clinical criteria and in this case it is considered a suspected case.
