The Governing Board of the Santa Cruz City Council proceeded yesterday to declare the contract relating to the acquisition of sculptural works to endow the Rodin Museum in Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This means that the administrative procedures for the acquisition of pieces of what will be the future sculptural space will be processed preferentially with respect to other projects.
According to the document approved by the Governing Board, “the acquisition of the sculptural works for the implementation of the Rodin Museum of Santa Cruz It has a clear objective of transforming the city, since it implies reinforcing the close collaboration between the tourism sector and the cultural sector, positioning the city as an international benchmark in culture and art, and diversifying the tourist offer”.
In addition, he adds that, “in short, this project will contribute significantly to the socioeconomic development of the municipality, so it should be considered as a Strategic Project for the City of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.” A statement that will also apply to “any other contract that may be necessary to formalize in order to have the citations of works for your museum or exhibition.”
The City Council has budgeted some 900,000 euros for the purchase of the first works destined for a museum that will be installed in the Viera y Clavijo Park, once it is rehabilitated, for whose works there is still no date, and which is also pending signing of the agreement with the Musée Rodin Paris.
