The mountain race that conquers

Conquer Victory remains intact. The test returned this Sunday after celebrating its last edition in 2019 and did so with outstanding success. With new distances, renewed obstacles and the correct decision of the organization to limit participation to 1,000 places. All this made the participants enjoy an unparalleled tour of the mountains of the municipality of Tenerife and demanded themselves, while having fun, with the large number of obstacles to overcome. Without a doubt, another success in what is supposed to be the organization of sports events by the Sports area of the City Council of La Victoria.

The day began with the start of the elite category, 15 kilometers. They were the most demanded by the route and the ones who had to overcome the most obstacles. Among the participants, some names stood out on the starting line: Harbunou Ihar, Ukrainian runner and Spartan ambassador; Nicolás Rodríguez, a local runner who has become a standout in the national OCRs; Manuel Luján, another international standout in the specialty.

With the starting signal, in Los Arroyos, of the 15K, the most experienced runners were put to the test with the obstacles that they encountered along the way, approximately every 400 meters. Many were technically and physically demanding, such as the ‘Twitter’, the crawls, the suspension combos or the hard climb up the Bailadero with 15kg bags on their backs.

After an intense fight, the Ukrainian Harbunou Ihar took the triumph of the elite with a final throne of 1:32:11. The second place went to the local runner Nicolás Rodríguez, with 1:33:06 while Manuel Luján was third with 1:34:53. Among the females, Andrea Rodríguez was the winner with 2:13:34, with Nazaret Sosa second with 2:25:37 and Belgian Sauvanne Vervaene third with 2:29:00.

The 15K distance crowned Miguel Ángel Marrero and Beatriz López while Tanausú Rizo and Inma Gonzalez triumphed in the 10K.

After the 15K and 10K starts, the start of the 5K races, the most popular, took place. The doses of fun increased in the short races although the demand was also notable. Among all the participants, Ayoze Hernández was the fastest while Sara Barrera was the best female.

Conquer La Victoria concluded its 2022 edition with a note. Its refined organization, with more than 70 volunteers, and its unique route, did not leave any of the participants indifferent. In addition, the decision to limit participation to 1,000 runners has been more than correct, so it will be a maxim for future editions. Conquest ends up leaving an unbeatable taste in the mouth of the participants, who are already looking forward to the next edition. Conquer La Victoria 2023 countdown begins.
