SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 1 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Governing Council of the Cabildo de Tenerife has given the green light for the Roads area to put out to public tender the conservation and maintenance contract for certain roads over the next five years.
The First Vice President and Minister of Roads, Enrique Arriaga, details in a note that “24-hour service is guaranteed, 365 days a year by specialized teams, capable of acting immediately in road operations, which are always a priority and in which the time factor is essential to offer the best service to road users”.
Arriaga also points out that the contract has a budget of 85,849,224 euros, “which is a considerable increase since the previous ones did not reach 27 million for a total of 582.92 kilometres”.
Now, he continues, “it will cover a total of 826.65 kilometers of those roads on the island that, due to their special characteristics, require high levels of attention, being divided into five zones called Center, North, West, South and Anaga, where in addition , each of the zones will constitute an independent lot, thus intending to facilitate access to small and medium-sized companies to participate in said tender”.
The insular director of Highways, Tomás Félix García, states that the successful bidders will have to carry out activities to maintain the operability of the highways, conservation tasks to keep the roads in the best possible condition and activities to improve and defend the highway aimed at regulate, control and defend the roads.
The tender will be divided into five lots that divide the island into Central, North, West, South and Anaga zones.
