Canarian Coalition of Arona asks the City Council to undertake “urgently” a series of improvements in the library service of the municipality. The new nationalist spokesman in the Consistory of Arona, Alexis Gómez Álvarez, and the Councilor for CC, Yurena Darias, recently visited several study areas to verify the situation they are suffering and thus demand that “several actions aimed at improving the service they provide to residents.
The nationalist councilors demanded that the City Council open the Cabo Blanco, La Camella and Valle San Lorenzo libraries in the morning. In addition, they requested the implementation of internet services in said infrastructures and the increase of bibliographic resources in libraries.
Both Gómez and Darias were able to echo the complaints of students and users due to the saturation that exists, for example, in the library of the Cultural Center of Los Cristianos. Likewise, in the library of La Camella, an improvement of the air conditioning is necessary.
The nationalists also demand that the Arona City Council expand the library network to more neighborhoods in the municipality, “in order to reach all the students who need these facilities, and thus also avoid displacement and the collapse of some libraries.”
In this sense, the CC spokesman in the Consistory of Arona, Alexis Gómez, criticizes that the mayor of the PSOE, José Julián Mena, “knows these problems that the students of the municipality go through and is not capable of giving them a solution”. From CC they also harshly criticize “the negligence of the local government of the PSOE with some facilities” and demand that “this situation be fixed immediately to solve a problem that has students outraged.” “This situation of neglect of the socialist local government is another example of the political chaos in which the municipality of Arona is plunged,” the nationalists assured.
