The City Council of The Realejos will open next week fifty free public parking lots located between the nuclei of The Mountain and Garden City. This project, executed under the Neighborhood Planhas required a municipal investment of about 87,000 euros.
the royal mayor, Adolf Gonzalezand the councilor for Urban Planning, Laura Lima, visited this week the municipal plot where conditioning works, paving of the land and road signage have been carried out. The president indicates that “this initiative is in line with the program to provide free parking areas in neighborhoods, which has been promoted since the local government (PP)depending on the needs transmitted by the citizens and for which we continue to seek solutions and alternatives based on the availability of land, either plots that are already municipally owned or others that are likely to be acquired.
In the specific case of this residential and school setting in La Montaña and Ciudad Jardín, there has been “a historical lack of parking and traffic congestion that will be significantly alleviated with the development of this plot, located specifically between the island road TF-333 and Valverde and Frontera streetsthe latter being the one that gives access and exit to the vehicles”, according to Laura Lima.
The execution of the project, drafted by the technical team of the Municipal Planning Department of Los Realejostook as a definitive solution the adaptation of the plot on a single level, creating around 50 parking spaces, which are accessed from the aforementioned Frontera street and where an interior space has been reserved as a circuit for the transit of vehicles between the different squares.
The work was carried out in different phases with initial clearing and cleaning tasks, demolition of walls and interior enclosure of the plot, clearing of the land, creation of new concrete walls, fencing, paving and painting of road signs.
