SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 30. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Government Council of the Canary Islands has authorized the incorporation of a budget item of 22,943,700 euros from the Ministry’s own funds for the execution of the new State Plan for access to housing 2022-25.
According to the regional government, this item will be added to the 76.4 million allocated by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda for the development of the Plan in the Autonomous Community, so it will be about 100 million euros for housing policies public in these years.
With the funds from this State Plan, many of the programs included in the Canary Islands Housing Plan 2020-2025 will be financed to facilitate access to housing for people with fewer resources, increase the supply of rental housing or increase housing solutions in the Archipelago.
All these objectives will be developed in various lines of aid distributed annually until 2025, after the formalization of the agreement through a collaboration signature between the State and the Government of the Canary Islands.
For its part, once the agreement with the Ministry is signed in the coming weeks, the Canary Islands will receive this year a first annuity of 18,285,000 euros from that State Plan with which to finance several of the programs that are already underway thanks to the Canary Islands Housing Plan 2020-2025, such as the payment of rental aid to vulnerable families or the Canarias Pro Hogar for households at risk of eviction.
Said agreement will make it possible to intensify the main axes of the Canary Islands Housing Plan by consolidating the housing policy promoted by the Ministry from the beginning of the Legislature and increasing actions in public housing with a new contribution of almost 100 million through this agreement with the State .
