The Institute of Social and Socio-Sanitary Care of Tenerife (IASS) launches a call for grants amounting to 100,000 euros, 30% more than in the previous ones for the island’s toy libraries. The objective is to equip them and provide them with material to guarantee the quality of this service. This item may also be used to improve the facilities of the centers based on the different programs.
The Councilor for Social Action of the Cabildo, Marián Franquet, believes that “this is a new opportunity to improve resources and services to care for boys and girls.” In addition, he values municipal management and explains that “a multitude of factors and the context must be taken into account, we must give more personalized attention, that is why the childhood professionals of each municipality, of each region, are the ones appropriate to assess the needs of the centers. Likewise, Franquet highlights the work of the IASS Childhood and Family Unit and the effort to promote social care: “The Cabildo de Tenerife has demonstrated its involvement with the social, a work that goes beyond intentions and translates into figures, in projects and results».
The counselor explains that this item “represents a significant increase compared to the last call, in 2020.”
Applications will be formalized digitally through the official form that can be found on the Institute’s website and must contain a description of the investment project for which the aid is requested, as well as detailed information necessary for its evaluation.
The criteria for the distribution will address different issues such as the attention capacity of the center, the age range of its users, the length of the hours or the services defined in the educational project of the toy library. The deadline will be 20 business days from the day following the publication in the BOP, last Friday.
