SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 28. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife will contribute to improving the promotion and sales of 60 fashion and craft companies through the organization and programming of a calendar of ‘Tenerife Market, Author Crafts’, spaces dedicated to the promotion and sale of multi-brands that will be developed in different parts of the island.

The Minister of Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso, and the General Director of Socioeconomic Development, Ermitas Moreira, held a meeting this week with the participating companies in which the director of ‘Tenerife Moda’ also participated, José Sánchez ‘Giuseppe’.

Carmen Luz Baso highlighted that this is the first time that the Cabildo, in collaboration with the town councils and with the ‘Tenerife Moda’ brand, has opted for this new event model to promote the unique offer and talent of Tenerife throughout the year .

“Marketplaces have become a very attractive promotion and sales formula to make known in a single space everything that Tenerife can offer and establish new direct communication channels between the public and the creators of the fashion and accessories sector that They lack a physical point of sale,” said the counselor, who assured that at the moment, three events have been closed, although work is being done to close a fourth ‘market’ in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Ermitas Moreira explained that this same month, from July 30 to 2, the first ‘Tenerife Market, Fashion and Author Crafts’ will take place, which will be located in The Duke Shop shopping center, in Costa Adeje.

“This is an event with which we want to give visibility to brands in the intimate swimwear and accessories sector, taking advantage of the summer season and the influx of tourists who choose the south of the island to spend their summer holidays,” he points out in a note.

Its organization entails the development of complementary actions to boost sales, among which the distribution of a discount card for the restoration businesses of the shopping center and the celebration of a raffle of items from the participating companies of the group of ‘Tenerife Moda ‘ worth 500 euros.

Subsequently, on July 29, 30 and 31, a new ‘Tenerife Market’ will take place at La Casona, in Santa Úrsula, an event that seeks to promote and encourage the consumption of eco-sustainable products.

On this occasion, the Cabildo has joined forces with the City Council to bring together fashion brands, artisans, designers who use sustainable products in the preparation of their garments and products in a single point.

In the same place there will be several ‘food trucks’, while other complementary actions will be developed such as talks, workshops and live music performances.

The third of the ‘market’ is scheduled for the month of November and will take place at the Castillo del Camino Largo, in La Laguna, taking advantage of the sales boost that the proximity of the Christmas holidays entails.

On this occasion, and in addition to the ‘Tenerife Moda’ companies, space will be given to other Canarian designers, combining the points of sale with the development of a complementary program of activities.

OPENING NEW MARKETS

Carmen Luz Baso highlights the positive trend that is taking place in the fashion sector this year.

“After three very difficult years for the sector, many of the fashion companies have once again begun to promote themselves in shows, fairs, national and international trade missions, with the aim of recovering distribution levels and sales prior to the pandemic,” says the counselor, who details that this year ‘Tenerife Moda’ will be present at 20 fairs, five international and fifteen national.

A total of 89 companies are currently registered in the ‘Tenerife Moda’ program, all of them with a track record behind them and with growth potential in new markets.

To date, the designs and textile products of Tenerife are sold in more than twenty countries on five continents and this year the bridal and children’s fashion brands have reached new agreements to start marketing their designs in China and Korea from the South, which join other destinations such as the United States, Japan, Italy, Austria, France, Germany, Arab Countries, Mexico, Colombia, Portugal, Ireland, Slovakia, Malta, England, Romania, New York, Panama, New Zealand, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Libya, among others.
