Twelve of mid day. When a large part of the Carnival lovers had not yet recovered from the crowded night before, the drums sounded again in Santa Cruz to announce that the party was continuing. Comparsas and other groups began to parade through the streets of the city to the rhythm of the batucadas accompanied by thousands of people who crowded on both sides and joined the improvised parade that took place. After this, the troupe that won the first acting prize performed and gave way to the dances, in which there were more and more people who either came from their homes or were tied with the night before.

The day carnival It is the festival of families, children and parents, and the streets of Santa Cruz once again received them with open arms after two years of hiatus. The floats, kiosks and stages once again offered well-known music to make the carnival goers dance, playing such well-known songs as Santa Cruz en Carnaval, La Vida es un Carnaval or Marejada, songs that are already as much a part of the history of the festival as the Carnival characters, who were also seen among the public to make them laugh and make them feel the tradition.

Murgueros, rondalleros, comparseros, members of musical groups and choreographic groups and public officials from the Santa Cruz Town Hall intermingled among the attendees, ready to make what will be the big day of this atypical summer edition shine as much as expected. The Plaza del Príncipe, the Plaza de la Candelaria and the Avenida Francisco La Roche were the busiest places throughout the day, being somewhat complicated to enter or leave, but in the rest of the city, although with great affluence, it was possible to travel with normality, allowing quieter spaces in which to rest or take refuge from the sun and heat.

The partygoers were able to enjoy a fun day with a family atmosphere while dancing with, among other artists, Ray Castellano, El Morocho, Ariel DKB Cuba, Johnny Maquinaria, Marcelo Mellino Dj, OBS Venezuela, Maquinaria Band, Renzzo El Selector, the Orquesta Wamampy or the Tropin Orchestra. The heat reigned throughout the day, but it was not a problem, nor was the rain, which, despite the fact that it made an appearance with some drops on two occasions, did not finish falling. With an average temperature of 22 degrees, the weather was nice enough to make people have fun and enjoy themselves.

At four in the afternoon, the carnival goers who had been enjoying themselves since the morning continued to want to have fun while the tumult continued to increase with the incorporation of partygoers who intended to start the Carnival during the day in the afternoon and then continue at night. . The taxis came and went in what will be their August and the more than a hundred groups that the city council hired were interspersed on the stages without stopping.

At 8:00 p.m., a large number of people gathered in front of the Guimerá Theater to enjoy a unique event: Bambones and Diablos Locos bringing the murga back to the streets with a performance that will go down in history in which they demonstrated their unity and camaraderie in front of the war of styles they have. The murgas next to the town put the finishing touch to the day and gave way to the night.

A night that continued on the three stages set up in the carnival ring: Francisco La Roche Avenue, Plaza de la Candelaria and Plaza del Príncipe. To this were added the traditional meeting areas such as the Orche, where the music started at eight in the afternoon, thus bringing its opening forward to that of other years. At six in the morning, the music was turned off to give the city time to recover and return, today, from twelve noon to enjoy more Carnival.

👯🕺 The first of the two Santa Cruz de Tenerife Day Carnivals begins

The celebration will continue throughout the night and early morning of Piñata Sunday, in which it is expected that more than 300,000 people will pass through the city, during the day and night.
