The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has registered Two new cases confirmed by possible diagnosis of monkey pox since yesterday, with which in total the archipelago has 40 confirmed cases, of which 28 were detected in Gran Canaria and 12 in Tenerife.
All cases have mild symptoms and remain in home isolation with follow-up by Primary Care, except for one of the confirmed cases that is in hospital admission, as indicated this Friday by the health department in a statement.
Thus, the confirmed and notified cases in the Canary Islands since the beginning of the alert and until today are as follows:
– 40 confirmed cases, 28 in Gran Canaria and 12 in Tenerife.
– Five probable cases, pending confirmation, three notified in Gran Canaria, one in Tenerife and one in Fuerteventura.
– Two suspicious cases, pending confirmation, all in Gran Canaria.
The protocol of Ministry of Health It classifies cases between probable and suspected depending on whether the patient meets clinical criteria and epidemiological criteria (probable cases) or if it only presents clinical criteria and in this case it is considered a suspected case.
