SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 23 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Deputy of the Common, Rafael Yanes, has met with representatives of the group of Teachers of the Canary Islands-Insucan (DCI), who denounced the “offense” that occurs with the interim teachers of the Islands, who cannot compete for the places of other autonomous communities that “protect” themselves with a second official language or those others that call for an insufficient number of places.
The group believes that the rest of the autonomous communities have not convened all the places required by Law 20/2021, on urgent measures to reduce temporary employment in public employment. “It is not logical that autonomous communities that quadruple the population of the Canary Islands convene fewer places than us,” affirm the representatives of Insucan.
The representatives filed several complaints with the Diputación del Comun and requested its mediation before the Ombudsman of Spain for what they consider a violation of the rights of interim Canarians by being harmed with respect to other autonomous communities.
They assured that the massive influx of participants from all over the national territory, attracted by the large number of places convened in the Canary Islands, will mean the dismissal of Public Education teachers.
In addition, they applauded the recent approval in the Parliament of the Canary Islands of a Non-Legal Proposal to palliate, to a certain extent, the arrival of people from outside the Islands, “since around 70% of places are going to be consolidated with people who They are not from our Autonomous Community”.
Faced with this situation, they requested a unification of criteria from all the autonomous communities for the publication of the calls: “The law is interpretable, but it is designed to remove all the places and give stability to all the interim, so a unification is necessary of criteria for this interpretation”.
As it is a matter of state competence, the Common Deputy undertook to transfer these requests to the Spanish Ombudsman, as well as to contact the Ministry of Education to find out its position on this matter.
