The local government (PSOE-ACP) of the Cross port has declared the imminent doom of the iders building, located on Familia de Betancourt y Molina avenue and abandoned for 31 years, when it was evicted due to aluminosis. This will allow it to be demolished, for which the owners are urged to clean, wall up and tear down the building, and present a technical project within two months of receiving the official notification from the City Council.
If these do not execute all the actions that arise from this action, the Consistory will be enabled in a subsidiary manner to carry out these actions, the cost of which will be transferred to the owners, as established by current regulations.
This decision was communicated to them yesterday during the meeting they held in the plenary hall with the mayor, Marco González, and the Councilor for Planning and Sustainable City, David Hernández. Also the consequences that it entails, collected in a ruling that has all the necessary urban reports to resolve a situation that has lasted more than three decades, with a harmful image for the city, because the property has become a refuge of homeless people and in a large garbage dump with the consequent danger to people and property.

In the aforementioned order it is stated that the building, in which there are still nine people, will be evicted today first thing in the morning by the Local Police.
Until the time it will be demolished, the City Council will adopt the necessary surveillance and control measures to prevent the property and its surroundings from being occupied again.
Those affected requested a new meeting with the municipal technical and legal team to clarify doubts, which will be held within two weeks.
Marco González and David Hernández stressed that the decision adopted “represents a before and after to offer a comprehensive solution not only to the owners, but also to the residents of the adjoining buildings and to the image of the city itself, which has been very affected in the last quarter of a century, and it will have all the municipal resources that are necessary, because we already have all the reports that consolidate with all the legal guarantees the commitment of the administration to face this entrenched situation”.
