The City Hall of Santa Cruzthrough the Autonomous Festival Organism, yesterday presented the program of activities for the Carnival of street that will combine the official acts of the Carnival, such as the Burial of the Sardine, the Announcing Cavalcade, the Rhythm and Harmony, together with the concerts of the Day and Night carnivals in the three stages located in the ring. The activities will begin tomorrow and will last until next Sunday.

The mayor of the city, José Manuel Bermúdez, was responsible for presenting the program of events together with the Councilor for Fiestas, Alfonso Cabello, who were accompanied by representatives of the more than 40 Canarian orchestras that will participate during the four days that it will last. the street carnival

Bermúdez recalled that “we were the first to bet on Canarian musicians, as we did in the May Festival last year, and in these Carnivals we trust our groups again”. In addition, he highlighted that “the commitment to the Canarian orchestras will involve the hiring of more than 40 companies and 400 musicians. To this we must add the companies that provide various services so that the Carnival takes place in the street”. “At the beginning of the year we had to make a very complicated decision, such as moving Carnival to June, and time has proved us right.”

Cabello highlighted the economic impact of the Carnival: “After two very complicated years, we are about to live four intense days in which the carnival people will meet again in our streets.”

Burial of the Sardine

Thus, tomorrow, starting at 9:00 p.m., the Burial of the Sardine will begin from Juan Pablo II street, which will follow its usual route through Plaza de Weyler and Méndez Núñez, Pilar, Villalba Hervás and La Marina streets, until arriving to the Plaza de España, where it will end. That same day, on the stage of Plaza de la Candelaria, Tribute to Juan Luis Guerra will perform from 10:00 p.m.; at 00.00 hours, the Malibu Band, and at 1.30 hours, the Columbia. And in the Plaza del Príncipe the music will begin at 10:00 p.m. with the Maracaibo Orchestra; at 00.00 hours, La Movida, and at 1.30 hours, with Latin Sound.

On Friday, the 24th, the Annunciator parade will go through the main streets of the city center starting at 8:00 p.m. from Belgium Avenue and will continue through the Dominican Republic Square, Asunción Avenue, Ramón y Cajal Street, Galcerán, Plaza Weyler, Méndez Núñez (Parque García Sanabria), Calle del Pilar, Villalba Hervás, Calle La Marina and Avenida Marítima, where it will end.

That same day, the music will begin in the Plaza de la Candelaria at 11:00 p.m. with La Mekánica by Tamarindos; at 1:00 a.m. with Nueva Línea; and at 3:00 with The Boys Machine. In Francisco La Roche, Renzo El Selector will play, starting at 11:00 p.m.; at 00.00 hours, Abel González; at 1:00 a.m., it will be the turn of Dj Wess; at 1:30 am with Fabrizio Salgado; at 2:30 p.m. Ubai Hernández; from 3:30 a.m. Fazi Brain; and will end at 4:00 a.m., Dabunker. And in the Plaza del Príncipe, from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., there will be a musical program by Cadena COPE.

The Day Carnival will be the protagonist on Saturday, the 25th, where the city will be filled with families in disguise. From noon, the Plaza de la Candelaria will feature the performance of the Carnival troupes, which will be followed by Morocho, Ariel Dkb Cuba, Johnny Maquinaria, Marcelo Mellino Dj + Ballet, Obs Venezuela, Ray castellano, Maquinaria Band, Renzzo el Selector , Wamampy Orchestra, Tropin Orchestra, Ariel Dj Animation, Revelation Orchestra, Morocho & Caracas, Acapulco Orchestra and from 4:00 pm the Dinacord Orchestra.

On the stage located in the Plaza del Príncipe, the music will begin at 1:00 p.m. uninterrupted until 6:00 a.m. with the Guayaba Orchestra, Clave de Son, Iván Cacú & his orchestra, Tenerife Orchestra, Corinto Band, Los Concejales, Olympia, La Crazy Band and Generation. And on Francisco La Roche Avenue, the music will begin at 4:00 p.m. with Dial Latino and 40 Urban, Ray Castellano, Mike Ledesma, Abian Reyes, Laurentini, Dj Ser and La Maldita.

Rhythm and Harmony

One of the great novelties of the program will be the Rhythm and Harmony contest, which will be held on Sunday 26, starting at 9:00 p.m., and which will return to Anaga Avenue.

It will be the act that puts an end to the Carnival, on a day in which the stages of the Plaza del Príncipe and Plaza de la Candelaria will have live performances for twelve hours, from 12:00 to 00:00.

Quimbao la Nuit, Álvaro Gamboa & his Latin Show, Zone 7, Arguayo Band, Urban Band, the K-narias, Richard Animation, Pepe Benavente Trio and Kdt’s will perform at the Prince.

For his part, Moise Glez will pass in the Plaza de la Candelaria. & the Son of him and Yá, Obs, Rubén Blades Tribute Orchestra, Harmony Show, Bembé Orchestra, Golden Band Orchestra and the Sabrosa Orchestra.
