The Cabildo organizes a summer campus for children between the ages of 5 and 13 at the Tenerife Athletics Center (CIAT), located in Tíncer (Santa Cruz). The Minister of Sports, Concepción Rivero, highlights that “this is an excellent opportunity for the little ones to do sports in a different and fun way while combining it with workshops, popular and traditional games and outings to the countryside and to the beach”

The camp at the facility managed by the public company Ideco will take place over seven weeks between June 27 and August 12 and includes different sports and leisure activities.

Among that total of seven weeks, one or more can be chosen independently. The dates indicated are: from June 27 to July 1; from July 4 to 8; from July 11 to 15; from July 18 to 22; from July 25 to 29; from August 1 to 5 and from August 8 to 12.

The participants in the camps will carry out activities related to athletics and all its modalities, such as running, jumping or throwing, but other sports such as base ball, soccer, field hockey and ultimate will also be practiced. Popular and traditional games such as the canary ball, bottle caps, sack races, bowling or marbles and the game of catches will also play a leading role during the campus, which also includes balloon twisting, recycling, painting, crafts and environmental sensitivity workshops. Children will also have the opportunity to go on an excursion to the beach and walk along a path to learn orientation skills during their walk.
