The Cabildo de Tenerife finalizes the rehabilitation of 50 kilometers of the TF-1 between Arico and Adeje

The Rehabilitation of the section of the southern motorway that runs between Arico and Adeje enters its last phase. The council It will continue, during this week, with the extension of the wearing course of the links of the Environmental Complex, Chimiche and the Industrial Park of Granadila (46, 49 and 50, respectively). It will also proceed with the beaconing, raising of the drainage grids and repainting of these 50 kilometers of motorway. During the past week, the rehabilitation works on the main road were completed, so the next works will focus on completing the wearing course on the junctions.

The Vice President and Island Councilor for Roads, Enrique Arriaga, considers that finishing the rolling course on the trunk of the road “is a milestone for the evolution of the project and shows that the end of the work is closer.” He highlights the environmental advantages that the work has by using 50% recycled asphalt. “In this way, the waste generated is reduced by half and the cost of aggregates is minimized.” He highlights that it is the first work with such a high recycling rate, “an example of circular economy and reduction of environmental impact”.

This week’s work will be located around the Tajao/Environmental Complex (46), Chimiche/El Río/Las Maretas (49) and Granadilla Industrial Park Access A (50) junctions. As usual, they will take place between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

From tonight until Thursday, the repairs to the services and the lifting of the grids at kilometer 53.3, direction Santa Cruz, will be carried out, so the section between kilometers 53 and 54 will be cut, diverting traffic to the right lane in same sense.

On Monday, the acceleration and deceleration lanes of the Tajao/Environmental Complex link (46) towards Adeje will close, to lay the wearing course. Vehicles will have to continue to junction 49 to make a U-turn and enter through junction 46. To go from Tajao to the South, the U-turn must be made at junction 42 going North.

On Tuesday, the works will be the same in the Santa Cruz direction. People who want to access junction 46 must go to 42 to make the U-turn, while those who wish to leave Tajao will have to do so at junction 49 in the South direction.

On Wednesday, the work affects the Chimiche junction (49), in the direction of Adeje. To get to the town you must continue to junction 50 to make the change of direction, to go south you must change direction at junction 46, direction Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

On Thursday the same junction will be affected, but towards Santa Cruz de Tenerife, so to enter Chimiche, you must change direction at junction 46 or 50, if the idea is to drive north.
