SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 19. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The comparsa Los Cariocas has been the winner of the night in the Contest of Comparsas of the Carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife 2022 held tonight at the Recinto Ferial by winning the first prize for Interpretation.
Meanwhile, the second prize went to Rumberos, Danzarines Canarios won third place, and the second prize went to Bahía Bahitiare, as reported by the City Council in a press release.
As for the Presentation awards, the winner was Río Orinoco, with its fantasy Resilience. The second prize has been awarded to Danzarines Canarios, for the costume called Memorias de Oro.
For its part, Bahía Bahitiare won the third prize in this category thanks to its fantasy Sabor a Santa Cruz. Cariocas also won a prize in this section, receiving second prize for Passion and percussion.
In addition, Tropicana infantil opened the long night of contest in which Geni Afonso also collected, from the hands of the deputy director of the Río Orinoco comparsa, the José Gregorio Méndez Alberto El Chamo award.
Danzarines Canarios also collected from the hands of the Councilor for Festivities of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council, Alfonso Cabello, the distinction awarded for the 50th anniversary of the formation.
For the presentation section, the awards were decided by Ruth Pérez Ruiz, a graduate in Fine Arts and professor of Fashion Design at the Fernando Estévez School of Art and Superior Design; Sandra de La Rosa Pérez, Bachelor of Fine Arts specializing in Design; and Teresa Hernández Quesada, textile technician and garment maker.
